all are mad who enter here

  1. This is wonderful! I'm quite in awe. Actually I was thinking I was a jerk for picking such a quirky photo that might be hard to match in terms of the light and color and shaky quality and all of that. And I'm not totally sure but I think that we had the captions early on before; my only clue is the very first post you ever made, "where this leaves off I must begin," the caption was the direct inspiration for my thesis bonfire photo, even more than the paired picture in some ways. So I think the meaning aspect is the perfect place to put your attention. Also it will very from set to set, methinks.

But this is awesome! Now I want to know more about your meaning. Will you tell me more? Or will it forever be a mystery? I'm so excited to be doing this again.

  2. Well, I was thinking about how everyone always thinks I'm crazy for having moved to DC. (or "mad for entering here") So I thought- what's a new aspect of my life I never had to deal with before that is so totally crazy and scary in DC? Public transportation! And I thought about how crazy people have to be to put their lives in the hands of others. Our bus drivers are insane! I fear for my life every time I get on a bus- and the metro has an accident every year, so how do you know if you're going to make it to work? You honestly would have to be MAD to get on those buses. But it's the only way for a lot of people to get to work... it's kind of sad, actually. I took the shot at night to match yours, and I liked how the light in the trees played like Christmas lights. ^_^

  3. I am totally impressed. I like what the captions add to the whole thing. Thanks for telling the story of the picture!
